Before and after cabinet and hutch

This again is one of my favorite things to rehab. One of those 1970's Ethan Allen hutch and cabinet sets.
It was that weird shade of yellow and had teeny knobs that made no sense.

The top of the hutch had these funky wood spindles I removed and spackled over,
and I added a wood applique to  spice it up. It got a coat of BM Stratton Blue (it's an awesome robin's egg blue color with just a hint of turquoise.)
and then a glaze with  Tudor brown which is the yummiest shade of chocolate brown ever (wait till I show you my friend's bathroom we did...coming soon!)

It gave it just the hint of age. I've found you have to be careful when glazing blues with browns because they can end up muddy looking. I deliver it to the client on Saturday, but I am sure she won't mind me giving you a sneak peek!
