I've heard everything sounds better in French... ;) So when I painted these pictures I decided to name them Les petites images or The little pictures ( even though there is not a French bone in my body. ). You know how sometimes you just need a little piece of art for a really small place like under a cabinet or next to a door, or even just a little piece to incorporate into a vignette? I painted these with those spaces in mind...
Just a little touch of something to brighten up a space with a touch of color... They are done in acrylic paints and sealed with top coat for protection. Lately I've had this craving to get back to some canvas work. Actually, I would almost say it was a calling. It's been a really long time since I've done anything except paint dressers and end tables black or white. I decided it was time I followed my heart and I finally sat down and did something about it.
L'orange is 6 inches by 8 inches.
Le Toile print is 9 inches by 7 inches.
Le fruit d'ete measures 7 inches by 5 inches.
And Le Paysage is 6 inches high by 8 inches wide. I have to say, it's my favorite and most like my style.
I have them for sale in my Etsy store, and I will be adding more with different subjects. If there is a subject you are interested in, e-mail me and let me know. I can do other sizes as well. I am finding it's too easy to get caught up in the day to day stuff like picking up that same blue sock for the 23rd time or worrying about our bills and push my passions aside. I know I am getting deep here, but I believe we have to go where God leads us and hopefully I am listening and will get deeper into doing some more artistic painting for myself....

ReplyDeleteI love that "...we have to go where God leads us..." So true. And once we move, I may commission a Le Toile print in blue. But I do really like the polka dots in L'orange. Oh gosh...decisions decisions.
