Published!

I've signed on as a free-lance writer for this amazing web site for the home gardener called Learn 2 Grow and they published one of my projects!!! It's how to make a Tussie-Mussie.. a victorian paper cone to hold flowers. If you get a chance, stop by and check it out, let me know what you think... Those are my pictures too. Which reminds me... What kind of camera's do you use?  I have a 6 year old, first generation digital that is only about 3 megapixels (if you can't tell from my blog pictures) and would like to purchase a new one... probably for under $200. Probably a point and shoot, (I don't know if I can get other other kind for under $200.).
You know what is funny about all of this? When I started blogging, one of the other bloggers had talked about how she was taking a photography class and I thought,Well, I'm never going to be interested in that.. ha. ha. If I had only known. Of course this is coming from the same person who said in high school. "I'm taking Consumer Ed. Why do I need typing? I'm not going to be a  secretary! "  Now I can't type or balance my check book! Boy, how fate likes to bite us where our jeans meet the seat.

  3. How exciting, Jen! Congratulations! I'll go check it out.

I finally bought a new Canon, but it was $700. Gulp. Now I'm too scared to touch the thing! Or take it out of the house! Maybe I should've just stuck with the old one that I didn't have to worry about so much. ;-)

  4. Congratulations, Jen! I'm so proud of you! I will definitely go and check out your article.

I have a Panasonic Lumix 7 MP digital camera. I've been using it for a couple of years now and still haven't learned all about it, but I like it. I also have an old Toshiba 3 MP that I really liked, but I wanted more mp and the Panasonic is much smaller and will fit in my pocket. Good luck with finding one. There are so many choices and they change so fast. :)

  5. I love my camera. You can get it online for $250 or so if you look hard. And it fits in my pocket or purse so I can carry it with me for those can't-be-missed shots!

Congratulations on being published. I'm going over there now!

"The PowerShot SD850 IS Digital ELPH is a digital camera that will really get your creative juices flowing. It starts with a high resolution 8.0 Megapixel CCD, a 4x Optical Zoom with Canon's exclusive UA Lens and an Optical Image Stabilizer for steady zooming. There's also a DIGIC III Image Processor with Face Detection and Red-eye correction, an ISO 1600 setting for sharper images in low light, six Movie Modes and a 2.5-inch PureColor LCD with scratch-resistant, anti-reflective coating for easy viewing."

  8. Congratulations, can't wait to check it out! I love my Canon Powershot SX100 IS. It has some SLR like capabilities without costing over $1000.00. It rates high and is easy to use with more advanced features that I am just beginning to learn. It lists on Amazon for 299.95 but I have seen it on other sites for just over 200.00. It has 8 megapixels and 10X optical zoom. I just use the basic snap and shoot type options right now and it takes great photos. It is what I use for all my blog pics and if you click on them to enlarge I think most are very clear. It takes really great closeups with the macro lens as well. Check it out at a local Best Buy to see if you like it. Pam

  9. Congratulations! I'll definitely check that out. I love taking photos for my blog! Actually that's the #1 thing I enjoy about blogging. I know quite a few people have some sort of Canon. I have a Panasonic 7.2 pixels and it's pretty easy to use.

    Happy Valentine's Day

  13. Congratulations, how wonderful to have your creativity and hard work recognized.
I use Canon S3IS, and I love it, mostly because it has a 12X zoom, which is great for taking pics of my kids activities. It's kind of pricey (was a Christmas gift), but I would highly recommend Canon at any price range.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I was so excited to see that you'd been there, I'm a big fan!

  14. congrats...
we have a Canon Power Shot 6.0mega pixels. Pat got it at Best Buy... got a discount because he bought the demo model that was on display. They had just gotten in the latest model and were wanting to unload this one to make room for the newer fancier smancier model. It has more bells and whistles that I will probably every use but I love it. So ask and see if you can get a floor model... that way you might be able to get a more expensive camera at a lower price.
    happy camera hunting!
