After I made-over my bulletin board ,I decided I just had to have a bigger one... like this.
But were would I get a bigger one from? Then, I thought..
What about taking an old picture with a great frame that was.. err.. borrowed from someone's.. er.. trash..?What would happen if I...
Painted the frame..
Cut a roll of cork to size and then hot glued it right to the picture( I doubled mine up. It was thin cork.)
I laid out my sheet music in the pattern I liked,
Used double-stick tape ,
then hot glued the entire thing to the cork once it was all together..?
I think I would end up with one bigger than the one I had!
Then, what if I decided that on Thursday,
I would list my old bulletin board
and this table top one,
and this one,
and this hanging one ( of old encyclopedia pages) at my Etsy store? What do you think would happen?
:) Jen

I think you'd make some money to hang on that big one, that's what I think!
ReplyDeleteI think I love them all...and just love love love your ideas. Wish I had the time to put them to work for me! :0)
ReplyDeleteLove your idea to cover up the old picture. Great frames that are inexpensive are getting harder to find.
ReplyDeleteWe also use a lot of vintage music. It looks great on everything!
I am in love with your dresser from a few posts back. It is beautiful in your home and I am so glad you got a great deal on it too!
ReplyDeleteI love the bulliten boards you have made, I bet they sell fast!
They all turned out so great! I have a vintage French music book that I have been hanging on too...hmmm
ReplyDeleteI love how handy old, ugly paintings that we would never actually hang on the wall in our home can be! Especially when they are free from someone else's throw aways. ;) The character of your board is so fun...and bigger and better for your inspirational delight!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautfiul piece of work. I love your blog and have been following you for some time. Unfortunantly I am bad about posting. I wanted to let you know I gave you an award. Come check it out on my blog! Have a great day. Maridith
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me. Love the bulletin board.

Beautiful bulletin boards! I never thought to use sheet music or a variety of different kinds of paper to cover it! Think of all the garage sales I could get frames at?! Thanks for visiting my site and for the kind comments! I look forward to being in blogland for awhile!
ReplyDeletethanks for the comment on our blog. I too love a good old unique frame. I have no problem gessoing right over an ugly old painting or reproduction - especially if it already has a lot of cool texture and then creating something new!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have to tell you - I am thinking about using this idea to re-do our church bulletin boards. I love the idea of using old hymns and aging them a little for the background.
ReplyDeleteI love "borrowing" items from the trash. :)
those are great...I just painted a few of my big frames, but haven't done anything with them yet. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you ever sit still...you are amazing.
ReplyDeleteTotal lovliness! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love how your bullentin board turned out. I think have to try that. Also thanks for all the lovely comments on our blog. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your bulletin board and the inspiration pictures. It turned out beautifully. Great frame too.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! They all are fabulous! I actually have some old pictures sitting in my basement...hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteI think that you are very creative and I also think that you will sell them right away in your etsy store!
