A little more Lucy ....not so much Ethel

I have to tell you.. Sometimes, in that crazy "I love Lucy" brain of mine, I come up with what I think are some "brilliant" crafting and project ideas to share with you guys...
Except sometimes that brilliant thing doesn't work out so well...
There are days I know how Lucy really feels...

Happy Spring Holidays!

  3. You are not alone!
I've had my share of creative ideas go wrong. It happens to the best of us! ;-)

  5. Ha' that reminds me of why I haven't taught myself to sew. It is on my list of things to learn. I can mess up a lot of crafting/painting projects, always with good intentions, but the end result in my head and the actual end result.....nothing alike.

I'm doing some catching up on blogging this weekend. Haven't had much time to visit my favorite blogs. Great post below. Love LolaB's garden party. How fun.

    Have a happy day

  7. Jen girl, you're still at the top of the heap in my book. Your painting rocks! In the words of the great Napoleon Dynamite, "You've got skills!"

  9. LOL! That was fun seeing that again. Did I ever tell you about the time I was painting a wall and step off the ladder right into the roller pan full of paint? As I was falling down, I then knocked over the WHOLE can of paint? Yep...I sat in that puddle of paint (plastic liner was on the floor)until someone came home to get me a towel to wipe off...

  11. Yep, know your pain, Jen! But I guess that is how we do succeed, ... from our failures.
Can I ask you a big favor? Take a look at the bed I posted. I think I might want to paint it white, but I love the harlequin pattern on the headboard and footboard. I feel like I have been given the perfect "paint within the lines" opportunity. Thinking about combing some of the triangles, different finish on the others. What would you do or recommend. I bought the bed in 2001, it was expensive to me at that time. It is very pretty and survived Katrina. I just needed to put a little color and varnish on the legs after the Katrina flood.
So it is perfect condition right now. I'm a little timid to paint it. Any advice you could give me would be so appreciated....or I could fly you down here to do the JOB! LOL!
    XOXO! Happy Easter!

  14. Hahahaha...Yes; I had a "brilliant" crafting idea recently (to make earrings). Um...let's just say that I don't have new earrings dangling from my ears. :-)

    Happy Easter!

  15. Did you try painting those plastic eggs? I painted some last week but I used spray paint - much neater. I needed some cream colored eggs. It was really time consuming and not worth the effort!

  17. Ah, well! I don't think that anyone can say that EVERY single project they've ever attempted turned out the way they thought it would! Happy Easter, Jen! :)

  18. This is the exact reason why my husband cringes when I say "I have an idea"! Everyone is entitled to a little *lucy* moment every now and then! Hope you had a great Easter!
