Let's take a summery break..

The weather is supposed to be rainy today, but I am going to pretend it's summery and warm.....
First let's start with a good read..

Which reminds me.. I am looking for some good summer books.. so if you have  a good one.. I love chicklit, decorating, and trashy romance.
I was going to stay in and pick the stickers off the back of the chair that my 2 year old decorated with; But that's not fun.
But instead, let's make a cup of tea, and eat COOKIES!

I like it the good old fashioned English way with evaporated milk..and LOTs of sugar.. I call it my doughnut in a  cup.
mmmm.. now, let's go sit on a lawn chair and watch the kids play....

And pick dandelions.

  7. That looks like a wonderful way to spend the day! Have you ever read the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon? They are great! You need to start with the first one and work your way through them.

p.s. yes, my house is usually that clean - but my kids are all grown and have families of their own. I remember when all 4 boys were growing up - you couldn't walk on the kitchen floor without your shoes sticking to spilt kool aid. :-)

  9. Sweet dandelions - sweet little children! I'm reading One Day At A Time by Danielle Steele - pretty good, but no Eat, Pray, Love (you HAVE read that one, right)!

Please stop by for a quick visit. I'm new, and need lots of friends, comments & followers!

    Be blessed!

  16. Those cookies look really good. Have you read any of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books? They are light reading but hilarious.

  17. I finally gave in and read the Twilight series since all my high school (female) students told me I needed to. I'm on the last book now and it's quite the saga but I see why people are so drawn in. I also read a book called Girls in Trucks (author's last name is Crouch) and it was a quick read and pretty good.

  18. Have you read "I Was Told There Would be Cake"? Funny, short, mostly autobiographical stories by a twenty-something New Yorker. Cute, and quick reads! I like short stories because you can put them down and pick them up without really missing anything.
