I learned a few things about myself this Memorial Day.

One,Even though I try not to.... and I am smiling on the outside...

I cry at parades. And not just some discreet sniffling. I mean fat rolling tears. My poor friend Mary, I don't know how she puts up with me.
Two, no matter how much you want to have fun with your children, doing the same activities as them isn't the best of ideas.
i.e. a 37 year old woman has no right doing cartwheels unless she is ready to suffer the consequences of pulling muscles in places she might need later.
...and three. I can find pretty shoes for fat feet! Even though I am on the smaller side my shoe size is 6 1/2 TRIPLE EEE. That's right. Triple. EEE. The average shoe width is an a or b. I am sure the reason I am such a good swimmer is because I have paddles for feet.
But I did manage to find these comfortable and cute wedges at Payless, (none the less...) that actually fit. And just so you know, in almost two years of blogging this is my first obligatory foot photo.
How was your Memorial Day?
Learn anything new? ;)

I cry at parades too. However, I am discreet and most people don't know.
ReplyDeleteWe went to a Memorial Service and they played "TAPS"...I lost it! Big time!

Yes, I did learn something...if you don't remind me to go to the Memorial Day Parade I will forget :)
ReplyDeleteI got a great laugh about your shoes. I also have small feet 5.5 - 6 and they are wide...kinda reminds me of Fred Flintstone. LOL
ReplyDeleteI always get all teary-eyed at parades too. Love the shoes! Payless rocks! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! "Paddles for feet"! Too funny! I have shoe issues too so I know how you feel.
ReplyDeletelol...you always make me laugh~
ReplyDeleteItem 1: I weep at parades too. Marching bands do me in. Don't ask me why.
ReplyDeleteItem 2: I will never again complain about my size 11 wides. Okay, I will, but never without remembering your feet issues.
That is all.
Adorable shoes! Finding shoes for me is so hard... I have a 5 1/2... no one wants to make shoes in 5 1/2 anymore. I cry at the drop of the hat now.... never did before but now i get that golf ball feeling in my throat and ball! I also learned that I get sick if I have a jam packed weekend... yep head cold and feel horrible,

You are the first person i have met with 6 1/2 wide feet just like me. I have the hardest time finding shoes too!
ReplyDeletePeggy
I'm crying tears of joy knowing that someone out there has a wider and only slighter longer foot than myself. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a 5 1/2 or 6 wide and a pretty good swimmer.
Kris
I KNOW, I CRY AT PARADES TOO!!! WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? I REALLY WANT TO KNOW. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE.
ReplyDeleteHUGS FROM MAINE
I didn't learn anything. Well, I did learn that I have changed my taste, but that doesn't really count.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a parade in forever. My daughter will be in our Labor Day parade though.
Cartwheel? Heck, I hurt myself trying to do a somersault a while back. LOL
ReplyDeleteCute shoes! I have a pretty standard foot size (7.5 B) and I still have trouble finding shoes I like.
Kimberly :)
Oh, and I love how you de-countryfied the bench in your makeover. That was fantastic!
Jen: You are perfect in every way!
ReplyDeleteCrying at Parades= A good heart!
Cartwheels=You are fun and spontaneous!
Special Feet=Like Hobbits and Elves...simply
magical! Feet are always a key indicator of
hidden qualities...in mythology.....hmmmmmm....
on the girley-side --very CUTE shoes, babe!!!
love, kelee
This is too funny...I have to admit to having a pair of double wide tennis shoes once...to my horor I am thankful there are others out there who appreciate Payless shoes' wide option... ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're too cute! I have wide feet, too, but have yet to take a foot photo! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, another parade crier! I never get a really good look at Santa riding in the Christmas parade because of the tissue frozen to my eyeballs - lol. And forget it, when the American flag passes by and my little grandchildren are waving their minature flags, I am a blubbering fool.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
Aw, that was sweet. I feel like I know you a little better too. Especially now that I have seen your cute feet :-)
ReplyDeleteJen R, I cry at parades too!! I can't help it. I also cry when I hear the national anthem it just completley moves me.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice Memorial Day. Have fun at your conference this weekend. I am an accountant and still hate the whole process!!
HA ha ha! "Obligatory foot photo"...ha ha! I love it. I've kinda noticed that, too, about blogland!
