In a perfect world...

Living in a split-level, as the last days of slowly summer unwind, so does the rest of the house.
Did I also mention we are potty training?
Luckily for my husband, I am already potty trained. It's the little one we are working on.

While this seems like the perfect solution....

This works much better.... :)

  2. Your curtain looks great! If you can't conquer the mess, hide it! I currently have my loveseat strategically placed to hide the toy mess.

  4. I'm going to put one of those at the end of the front entry hall and nobody, NOBODY, will be allowed past it. That way company won't see the dust and clutter in the rest of my house. Cool idea!

  6. Whew, you had me scared there for a minute, chick! Thought it might be you and the "prize" for getting it done right was either the beer or the ice cream, sugar! Glad to finally read it's the "little one." And the curtain worked rather well I'd say, honey.........

  7. Hopefully your little potty-er in training don't pull curtains down on a regular basis like mine does! I'm always standing on chairs rehanging tension rods around here. She doesn't seem to know her own strength when opening and closing it.

Your downstairs looks familiar, that happens in moments around here.

  8. Curtains are the best way to hide a messy teenager's closet also...Unfortunately I have experience on this matter!..at least we are done with the potty training!

  9. Nothing better to make a mess go away...close the curtain.
My family room has become a toy boxc as well. The basement is a whole nother story...I don't go there :)

  10. I have a curtain up to cover my basement stairs by the back door because it's just an eye sore. Not with toys or anything like yours. It's like a dungeon in our basement. Love that fabric!

  11. It's hard to keep things in order when the kids are home ALL day, EVERYDAY! Our basement looks like a toy factory blew up - I just don't let anyone over the age of 8 go down there:)

  12. I know when you have kids home in the summer it can get hairy BUT before you know it this time is passed and your house is empty and quiet. Nothing wrong with quiet but sometimes I wish I still had a mess and was potty training. Take life as it comes.

  14. Ha, I totally have some curtains to cover up areas that tend to get out of hand! Great trick!
