Mr. Peabody, let's take the Wayback machine to 1930...

I've always been drawn to everything about the 1930's. There is something about it that feels so familiar to me. Call me totally crazy, but if reincarnation is real, I swear that that was one of my past lives.
Even though a lot of places are showcasing vintage style, my girls and I recently went to see
Kit Kettrdge at the $1.00 movies.

Even though it was for the younger set, I found myself caught up in the home funishings and fashion.
I've had these images on my computer for a while and I wish I knew where I had found them.
I also I wish I could sew well.. I would copy the style of every single one of these 1930's vintage dresses.
If there really were a Sherman and Mr. Peabody, I would make them take me back for the shopping in the Wayback machine.
There is such a romance to the style ...
And an elegant smartness (is that a phrase or did I make that up?) and they look so well made...Fashion for a lifetime.

  1. Jen, you're way too young for those cartoons. My favorite was tutor turtle and Mr. Wizard. I think they were all on Rocky and Bullwinkle....old age here.
I also love the 30's fashions. Did you see "Changeling" with Angelina Jolie? The costumes were wonderful!

  6. I am right there with you. I sometimes watch movies because they are set in the 30's or 40's just to see the clothes and homes etc.I could lose myself in that time period. I have always wished for a time machine, Mr. Peabody was a fave too. Kindred spirits, I tell ya!

  11. I love the 30's fashions also. One day I want to go to the "Gatsby Summer Afternoon" in CA. You can see videos at Google Videos. Everybody wears vintage clothes! No cell phones or anything modern. :)

  12. Pretty dresses! I don't have a specific decade that I'm drawn to, but I do like clothing that has a vintage feel to it.
