Carry me back to old Virginny...

More likely carry me back from old Virginny...
We got in at 9 p.m. last night.
There's nothing like trekking across the U.S. from Illinois to West Virginia and back with 3 kids under the age of 7; Picture me for 12 hours mostly riding backwards passing out snacks, drinks and the occasional threat.
I'd love to say I've seen a lot of historical sites, but what I really saw was the inside of a lot of McDonald's bathrooms.

We stayed with friends in a remote area and we saw beautiful mountains, clean air and deer everywhere.
And the kids really were quite good despite all of my complaining.
It was a great family bonding time, and a wonderful memory maker.
We headed up to Pittsburgh, PA one day and went to the amazing children's museum there. On the way home we stopped in Columbus at the fantastic North Market.
I have some pictures to follow and more things to share.
I really missed you.

Jen

  3. Okay, I gotta ask, chickee. Why and how did you travel backwards through the U.S.??? I can't quite picture that. But don't complain until you drive from California to Pennsylvania with 2 kids under 4 and a dog in a 2 door carrrRRRR pulling a little trailer...... Arrrraghhhhh. It was NOT pretty, trust me. I told hubs never ever again would we do that. That was 43 years ago and I've kept that promise!

  6. Welcome Home! It sounds like it really was a fun time. I miss the trips with my boys when they were little (now 34-40). But I do remember the time in the car with 4 boys filled with energy.....

  8. Sounds like a good time...ok maybe not the McD bathroom part, but hey I know what it's like to travel with 3 little ones and you can't have too high of expectations for traveling...all in all sounds like you had some nice family time!
