When two lamp shades fall in love....

I love a good, happy accident.
I had covered a plain white lampshade a while ago with scrapbook paper. When I put my new drapes up, it seemed too bright, so I thought I would recover it again.

I had tried to remove the paper, but it was stuck on there pretty well, so I figured I would just go over it, and that the brown fabric was dark enough to cover up anything,

Imagine my surprise at the very cool end result at night when the light gets switched on!

Don't you just loooooove love stories with happy endings!?
Imagine the possibilities!!!

  11. LOVE it! That is definitely a very happy accident! Now people are going to intentionally put patterned paper underneath their fabric for a beautiful surprise when the light is turned on at night. ;) I think you may have found a new Etsy item...accidentally.

  14. Oh that is GREAT. I also love happy surprises. You could start your own line of lampshades and call them "See through magic" lamps or something. :0)

  15. I have considered doing this with scrapbook paper. But was afraid it wouldnt' adhere to the shade properly. I'm glad you had a happy accident! Those are the best kind!

  16. It's magic I tell you, MAJIC!!! Like a lithophane secretly hiding a surprise figure or pattern. I love this this. You must secretly delight when you are ready to turn this lamp on and bring up that pretty pattern seen only when the light is turned on. Sea Witch
