While I love the many virtue's of chalkboard
paint;
I was at my friend, Amy's, when she had a message
scrolled on a white platter in dry-erase.
I thought it was fabulous idea!
She is so brilliant!
So of course I had to get me some of those fancy, new-fangled things and play.
How perfect for a cheap message board?
A menu for a party!
A joke?
A thought or quote?
Or just to play on a window on a cold day?

looove the idea of writing on a white plater or platter! awesome idea! i do write on our sliding glass door in our kitchen a lot. i also give my boys dry erase markers and they scribble away while i'm making dinner. it is a life saver during that hectic dinner making time when they want to be with me and i need to cook! then we all are happy =)
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea!
ReplyDeletewe keep dry erase markers in the car for road trips so the kids can draw on the car windows. easy to clean up too!
ReplyDeleteyou. are. so. cute.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE dry-erase!! (except how it stains....)
Have a great day ~
I never thought about doing it on a platter!
ReplyDeleteI use the dry erase on my son's bathroom mirror and put his jobs on there.
I had no idea! Where have I been?
ReplyDelete~Amy
Great idea Jen!
ReplyDeleteI did this dry erase board for my kiddos and thought I was all that until my toddler used the marker on my sofa!!!!!!!! UG!
ReplyDeleteYes Jen, welcome to the 80's :).
ReplyDeleteCute plates!
ReplyDeleteHow fun can't wait to try it!! I am new to blogging, and so glad I found you! Please stop buy and visit me sometime.

ReplyDeleteI never thought of doing that on a platter. How fun! I may just have to go draw on some stuff now.
ReplyDeleteWell, what a GREAT idea! genius~! I can so do this! I am a fanatic for white platters anyway! Just get the dry erase markers? Dear Heaven, I love this!
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda
Wow, how cute and simple is that?!
ReplyDeleteJen I do that on the back door- make a list of things that I must not forget for when I leave the house- then it is in my face when I leave so I remember.
ReplyDeleteI do love the idea of writing on a plate too. I love my chalkboard but hate the chalk dust so now I use the chalk markers that Michaels carries( the kind starbucks uses) wonderful - no more dust and a clearer list.

Winter on the window is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteTotally cool idea....I'm totally pinching it from you (and Amy).
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the plate. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea.
ReplyDeleteI grew up hearing Pretty is as pretty does and I now say it all the time to my daughter. I think it's a quote and a thought at the same time!
OOOOhhhhh Jen, you've just given me a reason to buy more pens! Thank you!
ReplyDeletePolly
what is so nice ... it washes off with a little cleanser!!!
ReplyDeleteTHIS is genius!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Sometimes it is the simplest things that few people think of! I know I didn't!
ReplyDeleteMuch prettier on a platter than what we do at our house! Hubs and I have been leaving reminders and love notes for each other with dry erase markers on the stove for years. That's the FIRST place we always look for "notes" from each other. Looks like I'll have to rustle up a platter and picture stand to put on my stove now...heehee!
ReplyDeleteI love my blackboard paint, a little too much! Cute idea with the dry erase markers!
ReplyDeleteBristol
Perfectly creative! Jennifer
ReplyDeletejust visited for the first time. Love your blog...found some great ideas. I noticed on your Jan. 2 post that you had clock faces on mounted on your wall! Loved the look and have been wanted to do something different with my collection. How did you put the, up? Thought about trying poster stick-um (?)
ReplyDeleteMy teenage daughter does this with a huge mirror above her vanity. She writes her schedule of the week and things she needs to remember. She came up with this without my consultation-it's awesome for keeping her all organized. She updates it every Sunday night.
ReplyDeleteLove this! And while you're drawing on your window, close one eye and trace your landscape-- you will end up with a perfect drawing of what you see!
ReplyDeleteNEAT! Never thought about writing on the windows...hmmmmm??? Now, I'm thinking! Nancy
ReplyDeleteNice joke...you are such a dork:-)
ReplyDeleteI just priced white boards at staples this week for a girlfriend. $109 for one the size she needed! I like your ideas much better!!
ReplyDeleteHa, very cool! What a great idea!! I wouldn't have thought it would just wipe right off, but then again, I guess that's what it's made to do (duh)!
ReplyDeleteIt was so great to see you last week Jen!! Next time cocktails :)
:) T
We write on our sliding glass door with dry erase all the time - my kiddos totally love it.
ReplyDeleteOkay how have we all forgotten about this! I can put away my chalkboard paint for awhile and by dry-erase pens... brilliant!!!
ReplyDeletexo,
LuLu
I love the writing on the white platters especially! just don't accidentally use a Sharpie. I would totally do that! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHey, my etsy shop is UP and running! check it out and let me know what you think! I'll be adding more stuff over the next several days...
