And that'd the kind of friend I am; I've decided to share my new DL pic with you.
Take pity on me.
She said "smile", and then just as I started to, she unmercifully snapped the picture. If there was ever a time in my life I wanted a re-take, this was it.

From light-hearted party girl...
to eight years later.

To time-worn, looked like I'd been dipped in a bucket of fake-bake, prison matron.
"get back in those cells girlies, before I throw you in the hole!!!~"
I don't know if my skin has ever been that shade... ever. Is that even real color?
And Tyra would be so disappointed.. I'm not "smeye-sing."
You gotta love the new "flashy" license. You can obviously tell what state I'm from.
Is there something on my face?
There you go... public humiliation. Am I a great friend or what?
Oh, it was the Nikon D5000 my hubby was so wonderful in getting for me. I love it. I have some garden pics for you tomorrow.
A much better view than today...
To make myself feel better, I am going to go finish off my birthday French silk pie now.
after that picture, what another 10 pounds? :)

Look, chickee, if I can post a pix of this ol' 70 yr. old face, you can post a pix of that GORGEOUS face! I have such a thing for totally embarrassing myself, ya know, sugar. I'm pathetic! LOL
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Connie
Hahahaha! Just loved your description of the cell block junction thing. Perhaps you can teach them to decorate even! HGTV here you come!
ReplyDeleteSilly you. The new pic is gorgeous!!!!
Donna
You made me laugh at least. It was the prison matron, fake color thing that I laughed at though, not your picture--honest! Mine is far worse and I ain't about to post it. Even to brighten some poor schmuck's day (like me.)
ReplyDeleteYou, however, are a jewel--no, I'm not referring to that topaz color of your face. ;o)
you adorable thing!
ReplyDeleteI think your new pic is waaayyyyyy better. Every time I get mine done my face takes up the entire square so my husband calls me "Jenny Big Head"! (he's joking)
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to me to see how much I've changed from one license period to the next. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you REALLY hate the picture so much, you can just go back in and have it redone.............I did hehehe
D
Oh whatever! You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou look hot! What are ya talking about?? ;)
ReplyDeleteI think you look great in both pictures and WOW what a camera. I think that hubby is a keeper)
ReplyDeleteThanks--it is great. You look like Renee Zwelleger (sp?), in a prison matron kind of a way :)!
ReplyDeleteI like the new pic. Here they let us see our pic and approve it before they save it for your license. Yeah, wait behind the homecoming queen next time and tell me what a great thing it is! I think you are being too hard on yourself.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! Sea witch
ReplyDeleteHey, if we can't laugh at ourselves...right?
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous! Your pretty pic almost makes me regret throwing all caution to the wind and having mine taken with NO make-up and BAD hair. I am still not sure what possessed me to go that route...but it was rather freeing and silly and made me feel kinda brave!
You're awesome and you should know that!
ReplyDeleteThose are actually really good. You are a brave soul sharing DMV pics:)
ReplyDeleteYou - rook - mahhvelous! Really! DL pics are horrible for all of us. My husband is convinced that I used to take a little hand-held fan with me to get a "windblown model" kind of look! Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteYou could solicit DL photos from your faithful readers and then post them up in a collage! That would teach us!
lol
Happy Monday.
xoxo
Donna
My DL pic hasn't changed much but aaparently my sex has. There was an "M" where there should have been an "F". Had to get the whole thing renewed because of this little faux pas.
ReplyDeleteI think you're really brave and I'm just glad you didn't challenge the rest of us to do the same!
Angex
btw. I think you look fine.
Ummm, excuse me...that is the best DL picture I have ever seen, trust me on this! You are fab!
ReplyDeleteJen!
ReplyDeleteOkay -- the very first thing I thought when I scrolled down to the see the "new you" was "WOW -- she looks sooo elegant! Like she is just in from Paris and is getting her DL for America."
Sure, the pics are different "looks", but the second one looks awesome!!
Don't EVEN get me started about my DL pic! UGH. I WISH it looked HALF as good as yours!
So go -- flash that license proudly when you're carded! :)
XOXO
Ruth
It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteI think you look great! Your hair also looks perfect. How'd you do that?
ReplyDelete-FringeGirl
Your writing is funny, but the pic really is good! I however have been putting my own license change off for fear of the inevitable double chin that seems to make it's debut in these things. At least I'll get rid of the color on my NC license that's listed as "blonde" since the dmv guy just put that in himself and was too lazy to change it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Stacey
That is a riot. For the amount of money that we have to pay for our "portraits", you would think they could get a decent camera and lighting. My license photos almost never look like me.
ReplyDeleteJen, are you kidding me? You look amazing! There's no way that is a DL picture! Of course, you can't go wrong with those looks. You would look good with a paper bag over your head! Seriously though, I think you look very chic and sophisticated. Good for you!
