Holy cow.
It's raining,
it's pouring
the old man is snoring
he bumped his head
and went to bed
and couldn't get up in the morning.
The poor old dude. He probably had a concussion.
I's been raining here in Chicago FOR DAYS.
EVERYTHING IS WET.
I think it's rained every day for at least a month. The farmer's should be thrilled. Or I don't know, too much rain?
We've had more cancelled swim lessons and bored kids than I know what to do with.
Help me.
I did manage to snap some garden shots the other day and found this weed growing in my Hosta's. About 3 feet high. Ruffled leaf edges and pretty pinky/tan... flowers? Seed heads?
Any ideas?
it's growing great in all of this rain!
Jen

lol, you're funny. ;) I LOVE LOVE the rain, especially the feeling after the rain. I haven't been out to blogs lately but I'm trying to again because I MISS it. Hope all is well and your blog is still LOVELY as always! <3
ReplyDeleteRain here too yesterday. Today most of Ontario, was hit with a 5.0 EARTHQUAKE! Luckily no damage reported. Later this afternoon and into the evening we are expecting thunderstorms, damaging winds and large hail. The rain yesterday knocked down my hydrangeas that were so close to being open! Of course I didn't get a photo beforehand.
ReplyDeleteI haven't a clue what it is, but now it's my new desktop background!
ReplyDeleteJust GORGEOUS! :-)
Hugs,
Anne
Hi Jen! My friend who you met with me at Na-da is here in Savannah keeping me company and it's rained every afternoon! That's what gives us the beautiful greens, right? Can't help you with the weed, but it is pretty! xx Suzanne
ReplyDeleteYou're getting too much rain I'm getting to much sun and heat LOL! I don't know what that weed is but it looks pretty neat.

ReplyDeleteIt's been raining like crazy here in Canadian east coast too!
ReplyDeleteAt least your photo is pretty:-)
ReplyDeleteOh Jen - that storm was horrible. My friends and I were in Shipshewana, Indiana and we got pounded with rain. Kind of hard to shop when you're dodging in typhoon.

I so know what you mean...we had about a month straight of rain too...not good when you trying to paint your porch ;o)
ReplyDeleteI believe that is curly yellow dock...a biennial weed that makes a LOT of seeds, which is why I recognized it.
ReplyDeleteI have a book, somewhere in my house, which explains how our ancestors used some plants that we call weeds. Very interesting book, but I don't remember why dock was in that book...or else it was in another book I have (somewhere...noticing a pattern) about weeds in winter. That one is interesting since it shows what manages to last from the summer, the stuff that we see hanging about when it snows.
Girl, you don't even want to see the shot of my granny behind and my granny panties! At least you wear a smaller size than I do. Have a great day, hope the rain is over, we need some here in southern Maine.
This looks like butterfly weed.
