I know how he feels...

Today I had inspiration from an ant. Of all things. I hate ants.

I came across this little guy floating in our kiddie pool while I was out taking garden pics. I watched him run around and around on the leaf trying to figure out a way off. For him there was no land in sight, just  a whole lot of aqua as his raft just kind of floated around aimlessly not really taking him anywhere.
I really empathized with the poor, little dude.

There are days I think, when we feel stuck, and that vastness of what lies ahead of us is overwhelming, and rescue seems very unattainable.
I know I have times like that.
But this little guy reminded me as I snapped the picture and then gently lifted him to drier ground, that even though we don't always know what is going to happen, and things seem bleak; we have to have faith that once in a while there is something greater out there watching, ready to give us a lift when we need it.

  3. Oh I couldn't agree with you more!
Too bad that we tend to forget those wonderful thoughts in the times that we need them most. That's why it's good to have friends like you to remind us!

  15. Yes.. we all have to remember we are 'safe and being taken care of'.. sometimes we forget that! I was given a life sentence a few years ago, but I had so many good friends and family help me get back to health... sorta felt like that little 'ant'... nice post!

  16. Hi Jen~

I am really touched by this post. It reminds me of all the times God has rescued me! Even when He couldn't take me out of an uncomfortable time, He walked with me through it! It is so good for me to remember His faithfulness!

I think that is sweet that you moved him to dry land, too. :)

And I wanted to tell you, I was reading my copy of "This Old House" and guess who I saw? YOU! I am sure you know this, but I just had to let you know I'm so thrilled for you! :)
