I'm learning that kitchen renovations are really not that fun...

My kitchen used to look like this...small yes, dated yes, but nice and tidy..

As of yesterday, it looked like this.

There's nothing  like the horror that's involved as when your floor gets pulled up and it smells like mushrooms. Luckily there was tar paper down between the subfloor and the two layers of linoleum and Pergo, so all of the moldy, gacky floor was above that and the plank subfloor wasn't moldy. It just needed a really good scrubbing with detergent, vinegar and Borax.

Don't you love the green? The surprises former homeowners leave is amazing.

For something much prettier, hop on over to Mary's blog. I didn't get to chat about her much, because she refused to be in any of the pictures, but she caravanned behind us to Junk Bonanza and we hung out the first day. She's a fun and sweet girl if you ever get a chance to meet her. Ambitious too, check out the barn she is taking down by herself.

When we bought our house that lovely shade of green you have on your walls was on ours also.

The man that did it considered himself an artist. Maybe your former owner was an artist also. Yup.....

Your kitchen will look fabulous when finished. Hang in there.

We just remodeled our kitchen too and I love it!! Soon we can begin phase 3 of ours which includes an island and new baseboards under the cupboards. We also painted our cupboards and I lvoe the way they turned out. We added bead board and moldings to our entrance way doors and with new paint it looks like a french farmhouse kitchen now. I love it!! Will be happier when we remove the table... and have the island... more cooking and storage space...
