The sunny day...

Winter can get so bitter and cold here in the midwest; It makes we want to hunker down in my long-johns with my wheat berry warmer, a book, a cup of coffee and fatten up for the winter.

I had picked up some tulips from my grocery store the other day, and when the sun finally peeked it's head out the other day and came in through my window, I almost felt the hope of spring; like a tonic for my winter blues.
For a moment, it actually almost felt warm and sunny like a wonderful June day.

The tulips were just the right kind of cheery brightness. I sat in the couch and pulled out my gardening catalogs and started my spring dreaming and mapping out my garden. I am adding another new plot this year, which opens up a whole bunch of possibilities. We might be able to actually grow enough to be totally self-sufficient this summer and not have to pay for our CSA.
Sometimes flowers can cure everything.

Your tulips are just divine Jennifer. It is the middle of summer here, but freezing cold and it has been raining non-stop for the past four weeks...think I need to get me some flowers to remind me it is summer. Enjoy your beauties and have a fabulous week :) ~ Tina xx

Love your tulips in the galvanized bucket in your living room, Jen. Funny, I went to my local little flower shop yesterday looking for tulips, because what could be better than tulips on a cold January day? They were out so I had to come home with roses. Pretty, but not the same :)

It does look like spring in your home! Those tulips in the galvanized bucket look great.

We are having a major snow storm right now...10 inches and still snowing.

Playing the the garden sounds wonderful right now.

Your whole room makes me feel warm, not just the flowers, but they do add the perfect touch, non? I love your sofas. Are the new, and if so where did you get them?

Oh my, you are so right. Flowers make it all better. The gloominess of winter begins to fade away. I just added some lavender here and there, and it brightens the mood. Your tulips are gorgeous. And the whole room is perfect!

The tulips could almost make you believe that Spring has arrived, especially with the sun streaming in the window. Your living room is very pretty, I love that huge pillow that I see on the gorgeous couch. And I love the chair that you upcycled! Very nice.

Hey Jen
Normally I would be so sick of winter by this time but this year I am embracing it... I love that I really have nothing on my calendar and I can just stay home. Cocoon if you will.
But June is nice :)
Your house looks beautiful

Jennifer,
I am FREAKING OUT! I noticed your curtain fab in the family room, and it is the same I have in my main floor powder room sink skirt!!! Now, I got only 3 yards from a lady on ebay, but cannot find more ANYWHERE!! I am crazy about it, and want to find more of it for curtains, too! Any chance you would know a source? You are incredibly talented - I love your style, lady!
