I wish I had a finished bathroom to show you; but we are still puttering along with the tile. These were some pictures in my inspiration folder. I am starting to lean towards a light-greeny blue for the walls. The basic stuff is done. We've put black and white basket-weave tiles on the floor (which I love); it's the wall tile giving us trouble. We have to match to an existing tile to which there is no match, so I might end up going with a mosaic to get creative and blend everything. It becomes complicated when the original owners have tiled every wall 4 feet high.
I don't know the sources, but if I happen to show your bathroom, let me know!

Speaking of bathrooms, I want to paint our claw foot tub. It's old & looks the part. I bought the Elmer's putty kit to fill in a nice, big gash at the rim. Once that's done, I plan on painting. I figure it would be cheapest to buy ONE can of paint (in white), rather than paint the inside white & the outside black (like I would really like to).
ReplyDeleteHere's my question- I've seen instructions call for polyurethane enamel or urethane enamel. It's tricky at best, to find those in a one-horse town. I did a google shopping search to see what my options were & came across "Polyurethane Floor and Trim Enamel." The part of the description that caught my eye says "Dries to a durable and abrasion- resistant finish that will withstand repeated scrubbings and high traffic." It said scrubbings. Not washing, not cleanings..... Scrubbings.
It's also quite a bit cheaper (remember one-horse towns can be outrageously $$$, too). Is this a comparable item? Same item? Would it work???
I would kill for any of these bathrooms! We have the BIGGEST GREEN tub in our master bath. Yes, I said Green. If I could only waive my white wand....

ReplyDeleteMatchy matchy isn't always good anyways. We're in the middle of repainting our family room and I couldn't decide on which white.....so I coped out and just picked boring white white! oyyy!
