Now that oldest has her own room; it's just Middle and Little in the other room. Oldest is a bit OCD and everything in her drawers is organized and neat; but let's just say Middle and Little are complete opposites. After kissing them goodnight, I tripped across their room trying to escape and almost never surfaced. Their room is basically in shut-the-door status. Between clothing that who knows at this pont if is dirty or clean, drawers that appear to be throwing up their contents, naked Barbies, ripped paper and cardboard boxes, and itty-bitty pieces that hurt when you step on them, they've managed to completely raise the bar to hoarder status in the week and a half since it had been cleaned. It's almost impressive. The amount if destruction they cause is amazing. I am contemplating bunk beds for them, but I am afraid it would just give them more empty floor space to crap-up.
In the mean time I was surfing Pinterest for some ideas as their room is almost ready for a complete overhaul.... and a dumpster.

Jen - I love all of these, but for example, in the first photo, all I can wonder, once the gorgeousness of the beds is taken in, is how the heck do you change the sheets on something like that? I'm very practical and those are the thoughts I get. The bottom bunk wouldn't be bad, but climb up the ladder and struggle to get sheets on the top bunk when you can't even reach the other side. I guess it's not for me. These rooms are beautiful tho. Good luck.
ReplyDeletelove those sleeping nooks!
ReplyDeletemy son's room is still like that. only difference is i don't have to go in to tuck him in anymore so i am safe. those are beautiful inspiration rooms. i would be happy with any of them.
ReplyDeleteomg these rooms are amazing! Sooooo cozy!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I love the 3rd photo the best! How gorgeous is that room! I have 2 daughters who are 2 yrs. 4 months apart. While the girls are grown and married now and the youngest has a son now I remember those days of messy rooms like it was yesterday! Enjoy those girls as long as you can, they grow up so fast and then they are out on their own. Also I love the names you have given the girls in your posts!!
ReplyDeleteI really like that last three...just showed the kids - and unanimously they all liked the same ones - but especially the one with the four all together - that one is soo cool
ReplyDeleteI love the sleeping nooks.I know I would have loved that as a kid.
ReplyDeleteOh what wonderful "one day rooms" as in one day when my kids are on there own and won't hold an opinion on how they want their rooms! Simply beautiful!

ReplyDeleteLove your posts...my sister and I grew up sharing a room...bunk beds are very cool. I'm wondering what ever happened to those...can't wait to see what you decide.
ReplyDeleteThose are such sweet little dream rooms! Lots of inspiration to be found in these photos!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are how we want children to live.LOL.I raised 4 daughters with 2 sets of bunkbeds in one room for some time. Then they did get to be just 2 per room. I love the room with the bunks on the wall..precious. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteWe're in the middle of an attic expansion where we have created a sleeping nook like the ones in Sweden. It's going to be so cool when we're done and maybe someday we'll have grandchildren to enjoy it, not just grandkittens.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I laughed out loud about them never finding you (I only have one) but little one seems to be able to do that with her bedroom and playroom! Come on over with those gorgeous suggestions--we are currently in a very girl pink and purple stage though :)

I have two mess makers like you do living here - - are you taking boarders?
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your search for inspiration. I think the sleeping nooks are such a fun idea.
