The Snow Queen and the angel....

I've been getting ready for both The 3 French Hens Holiday show in Morris, and the Nook Holiday show in Naperville. It's been a crazy art-a-palooza here. I think when I blew my nose the other day glitter came out. I wanted to share with you a couple of the things I've been working on. I've been making all kinds of things such as handmade pillows, towels and jewelery.
I've been making Santos/art dolls for a year or so now and I have been really trying to stretch myself a bit.  I've also taught a class in it and would really love to get even deeper into making them. I really love the process of sculpting and painting.I've been experimenting with lots of new techniques.
The first one I've finished for the show is the Snow Queen.
She has french text wings and a German glass glitter crown. I had found some round boxes to put her on and I love the height. She's over 20 inches tall.
With a music note collar.
I was then inspired to make a messenger angel for the honor and grace of the holiday season.
I used more french text and mica glitter. I love me some mica glitter.
Her wings are french sheet music. I think she looks serene.
Which is not how I feel right now. I need a little Zen moment I think.
I will be making, making, making the next few days. I'll see you tomorrow for the Fabulously Creative Friday linky party!

  3. Love the Santos. Was surrounded by them when I lived in Flagstaff Arizona. You don't see them much elsewhere. Pretty earrings too, especially the caged pearls.
